The Smelting Process is dedicated to publishing poetry & prose in English & Spanish, in translation or not. We are always interested in learning about new projects by published & unpublished authors. If you are interested in submitting work, before doing so please read through previous posts to get an idea of what we generally publish. We currently have the ability to publish text & audio. Mario Domínguez Parra: Born in Alicante, Spain, in 1972. He studied English at Universidad de La Laguna, Tenerife. He wrote an extensive study in English on Louis Zukofsky’s poem “A”-9 as a postgraduate work, in Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
He published his first book of poems, Apolonía, in 2006. The poet and translator Maureen Alsop translated three poems from that book, which were published in the 2010 Autumn Issue of Poetry Salzburg Review.
Domínguez Parra is also a translator. He has translated into Spanish works from British and American authors (Kathy Acker, David Jones, T.S. Eliot, Ezra Pound, James Merrill, Clayton Eshleman, Vassilis Zambaras, Maureen Alsop, Pierre Joris) and from Modern Greek authors (Odysseas Elytis, Ioanna Tsatsou, Yorgos Seferis, Angelos Seferiadis, Kostas E. Tsiropoulos, Kostas Tachtsis, Nasos Vayenas, Christos Vakalopoulos, Vassilis Zambaras, Demosthenes Agrafiotis, N.G. Lykomitros). He has translated (together with poet, translator and narrator Joseph Mulligan) a collection of poems and prose by Pierre Joris.
